The pH of this formulation is approximately 3.6. Glycolic acid has an acid dissociation constant of 3.6, which is an important aspect to consider when formulating acids. The acid dissociation constant indicates the availability of the acid, and when it approaches the pH, there is an optimal balance between salt and acidity, increasing the acid's effectiveness and reducing irritation. A higher pH in such cases may increase salt, making the formulation more irritating than if it were more acidic. Note: While exfoliating acids can lead to visible benefits quickly, we generally recommend indirect forms of skin exfoliation compared to direct forms, such as this formulation, due to the potential for skin inflammation and sensitivity associated with acids. After cleansing, soak a cotton pad in the formulation and wipe the face and neck. Do not use on sensitive, peeling, or damaged skin. Avoid contact with the eye area or eyes. Do not rinse. You can continue applying additional skin treatments as needed. The product's contact with the skin should be limited in frequency or duration. Stop using the product and consult a doctor if irritation occurs. Use only as directed on unbroken or uninjured skin. It is recommended to test on a small area of skin before use.
