Product description

I do not know where this idea came from, but it came. The idea that there is a meaning behind things; life and death and what is between them. Wisdom, the purpose, the malicious insight in details.. I love to think that it exists. We all love that, we all prefer to believe that there is wisdom behind anything, as that makes us feel less lonely on this earth. You live your life and it seems to you that you are searching for the meaning, for the ambiguous essence in the heart of a rose with a thousand crowns. You open the crowns, one after the other, penetrating into the heart of the rose. You live believing that there is a rose, that the rose has a heart, that the meaning is in the heart, that the meaning exists beforehand, its existence precedes your existence, and all you have to do is search for it.. - With these words, Kuwaiti writer Buthaina Al Essa presents her book (Haa), which carries the game of searching for meaning in four Ha's: "Life," "Love," "Freedom," "Truth." Reading it with her is a kind of readiness to extract possible and plausible meanings, which the reader justifies when interpreting the text, and explaining each word in its different facets so that the letters are rearranged and the meaning that suits him is chosen. "Take the word love; dismantle it and spell out its letters. The H is tenderness and the B is force. Do you now understand love more? Do you see its dual nature, the two conflicting forces within it, tenderness and force? This is my personal effort. And you might dismantle love into two different words; H is war and B is brutality? (...) The word that will grow from each letter is a word that belongs to you. A word that resembles you, a word that is your friend and beloved, flowing under your skin and acting in your heart as if it were the lady of the place..." - And in this sense, writing for the one who writes and reading for the one who reads is nothing but a re-production of meaning, and a diversity of connotations, countless in number, and fitting the circumstances that influence writing at times, and reading and reception at other times. The writing model that Buthaina Al Essa presents here carries a distinctive characteristic of different writing; it is a writing of multiple meanings connected to life, self, and experience; a style she has established since her early works and to this day. It is a model she did not inherit from anyone; she created and invented it, with all its details and its aesthetic and linguistic values; thus, she deserves the reading. - The book contains (articles) by the author Buthaina Al Essa, previously published in the Emirati magazine Al Sada, between the years 2012 – 2016.
