This is what the great writer "Taha Hussein" did throughout his life, as he dedicated his pen to serving Arabic literature through study and investigation; because he realized that literature is the protector of the nation's heritage and an important source for studying its history, as well as expressing its spirit and the philosophy of its people, and even reflecting their tastes. In this book, he warns us of the obstacles facing Arabic literature, such as the absence of freedoms, and what has happened to education — at various stages — from deterioration; so our literary production weakened, and generations appeared who rarely read, and if they did, they often looked for easy, light texts with simple language that approaches colloquial speech. It was therefore necessary for the Dean of Literature to openly criticize and criticize these writers who did not preserve our culture's rightful place.
