Calming the mind

Overview of the book Ijmam Al-Khatir - Fahad Askar Al-Basha: In this author, six long articles differ in their motives for writing, even though the genuine desire to write is present at all times. Some were driven by a special interest that was prompted by bad luck, such as the article about the miserable poet Abdul Hamid Al-Deeb, and others were feelings of gratitude and reciprocation of kindness and reward, like my talk about Al-Manfaluti and Al-Zayyat. Some were purely research to clarify a truth, such as discussing the inflation of ego at Zaki Mubarak and the pride of Al-Aqqad. Others were scraps accumulated on a night filled with joy and merriment, like the conversations with humor from Hafiz Ibrahim. Here, it must be acknowledged and honestly conveyed to the dear reader that no matter how much effort I exert and how much time I spend in research and investigation to help the student reach his goal and the enthusiast fulfill his wish, I am deficient. I am not among those who indulge in abundance or scarcity, and this work remains "a hurried effort of a hurried person, a sincere but limited attempt, and a longing effort."
