This book aims to prepare for that by including selected poetry from the early ages, chosen for preservation and citation, with explanations that clarify their difficulties, resolve their ambiguities, and illuminate their obscurities. And among the features of the selected verses: - Their inclusion of delicate meanings suitable for argument or citation. - That they are from ancient poetry, either from the Pre-Islamic era in particular, or the Umayyad era, or the Abbasid era, because these advanced periods clearly have a merit over the poetry of later ages. - That they have been mentioned by some masters of language, or appeared in some well-known linguistic collections. - That they are short poetic pieces, to ward off boredom, stimulate memory, and facilitate citation.
