Product description
Professor Farouk Hamada's (may God preserve him) book "Research Methodology in Islamic Studies: Authorship and Verification" was divided into two sections. The first section was dedicated to the methodology of research and authorship, with two chapters. The first chapter began with a discussion on the expansion of Islamic studies in time, place, and subject. It pointed out the purposes and goals of authorship, as well as the steps of research in content and form. It called on researchers to divide the research, plan it carefully, gather information with awareness and insight, and to continuously scrutinize, organize, and formulate it. It emphasized the importance of honesty in transmitting ideas and attributing them, understanding texts correctly, determining their meanings, consulting experts in each field, and maintaining honest and balanced criticism.
The second chapter of the research methodology outlined the formal and aesthetic steps of the art of authorship, warning researchers of the necessity of proper style and beauty, and of accurately marking the text with diacritics, tashkeel, and punctuation. It also pointed out the importance of correct Qur'anic readings, advised good quoting, avoiding unnecessary elaboration, adhering to common terminology, writing foreign words in the language from which they are borrowed, and including sources and references. It recommended creating indexes and glossaries, producing well-designed and engaging layouts, and including comprehensive summaries.
The second section was dedicated to verification methodology and the revival of heritage. It aimed to serve the following works by the author Farouk Hamada:
