Product description
About the novel House of Multiple Paths - Diana Wyn Jones:
"Living in a house full of magic is not an easy matter, as you know."
This is the will of Aunt Sophronia for Sharmine, the heroine of the third and final part of the Howl trilogy.
Sharmine is taken to manage the affairs of the wizard house of High Norland, the elder brother William, by the nomination of Aunt Sophronia.
Sharmine was raised well under the care of her parents, the Bakers, but they went too far in that, keeping her away from everything in order for her to become a "respectable" girl, and she did nothing but read books in which she buried her nose all the time.
Therefore, she seeks to realize her dream of joining the king of High Norland and his daughter Princess Hilda in their library classification.
Sharmine learns simple things in the wizard's house, such as washing dishes, tidying the house, and the art of washing clothes—she does not wash a red apron with white clothes.
She tries to be kind to Wiff and Peter, who teach her many things, despite not distinguishing between right and left.
In the small house—seemingly—with its single door that takes us to several places, Sharmine discovers many hidden talents of hers, as she is a natural witch who succeeds in stopping water from bursting out of cracked pipes, flying in the meadow, confronting the Lubbock, exposing the deception of the Kobold Rollo, and protecting the kingdom alongside her dog Wiff.
Living in the wizard’s house was not an easy matter, as Sharmine concluded, but she learned about herself and other people she would never have known if she hadn’t lived there, and most importantly, she learned about life like never before.
