Product description

The scholars of Islam, old and new, called for the importance of applying the context in understanding the Quran and Sunnah so that the observer and the interpreter do not go astray in their interpretations and deductions, whether to the right or to the left, and reach the intended meaning of Allah and His Messenger as understood by the Salaf. Although in the history of Islam there have been those who deviated in this matter, the modern stance on context differs in that it takes the neglect of context as a methodology and a guiding light, and dares to employ it outside of its proper contexts according to its aims and purposes. Therefore, this book was written to analyze and criticize this deviation and drift. Anyone with the slightest knowledge of the modern discourse and its revivalist project sees that this trend relates to some texts of the Book and Sunnah, the efforts of the Companions, and the opinions of some scholars, without considering these texts in their full context, according to their legal context, and the accompanying evidences from the situational and textual clues. The author began with introductory premises about defining the indication of context, its types, and the reality of the modernist discourse, then the phenomenon of neglecting context in the modernist discourse was shaped, followed by the results of neglecting context in this discourse, and then he criticized the phenomenon of neglecting context in the modernist discourse, thus concluding the book.
