When I read "Montini" I do not feel that I am in the company of a literary or philosophical work, but in the company of a human being of flesh and blood. I feel that I am in the company of a brother who advises me, consoles me with words of comfort, and offers me the purity of his friendship. "Montini" is a person who breathes beside me, lives with me. He enters my room as a stranger, but he no longer remains so, rather he becomes a close friend. The wisdom of "Montini" always descends upon the heart like a bestowed blessing, especially in times when an individual feels threatened, deprived of his freedom and spiritual peace.
