Product description

Taqiya occupied a very significant position among the Twelver Shi'a, to the point that it almost became an original principle of the sect, and an element deeply embedded in its structure and components, present in its beliefs, jurisprudence, political thought, and the behavior and dealings of its followers with others. The danger of the "principle of Taqiya" is evident in its being a cause for loss of trust in any spoken or written words by Shi'a scholars and leaders about rapprochement or removing differences; how can a Sunni trust a Shi'a scholar who speaks sweet words and eloquent phrases about brotherhood, unity of the word, and few differences between the two groups, then doubt that all this speech might have been issued as Taqiya? This study addresses Taqiya among the Shi'a, clarifies its concept, and explains its ruling, its importance, the reasons for resorting to it, and the principles on which it is based; then it compares all this with the stance of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah regarding Taqiya.
