The creed consists of three main discussions: Divinity, Prophecies, and Hearing. Our scholars have exerted effort in explaining and clarifying them to make it easier for people to understand and apply. Among these scholars was Ibn Hazm, the encyclopedic scholar who enriched the Islamic library with his writings in various sciences, including the science of beliefs, in which he adopted a special approach to understanding issues of creed and their discussions. We find him sometimes agreeing with the Ahl al-Sunnah and sometimes opposing them, and sometimes sharing the Mu'tazila and often refuting them. He may also be the sole opinion-holder, contradicting the consensus of the nation on a matter, and he supports his view through textual interpretation and the use of rational evidence. This diversity of opinions has attracted the attention of researchers. Ibn Hazm had valuable opinions that agreed with the Ahl al-Sunnah, and he was diligent in proving and defending them by mentioning transmitted evidence and presenting rational arguments to respond to deniers in a scientific and objective manner.
