Authorship / Saeed Al-Musallh Poetry is an authentic art form, one of the earliest and most sincere arts because it is an expression of the human soul, originating from its depths, and reflecting its state. There are many poets who have been afflicted with blindness, whether at birth or afterwards; some received this with patience and open-mindedness, while others were overwhelmed with sorrow and bitterness, tears flowed from their eyes, and some mocked and challenged others who could see, surpassing them and managing to carve for themselves deep places in the body of Arab history and thought. These poets recorded that inner fire or the feeling of superiority and love of excellence in an expressive poetic form. Our ancestors realized that disability did not prevent its holders from dominance and leadership, nor was it a barrier preventing them from contributing to building their society; rather, it was a stimulus to motivate their spirits and gather their strength to achieve their goals in various fields. This book falls into what can be called (the literature of disabilities worth research and study). Some recent studies, though few, have addressed blindness in Arabic poetry in scattered research, but to our knowledge, no author or scholar has dedicated a comprehensive independent study on the poetry of blindness.
