Al-Suyuti began by mentioning his lineage, then arranged a chapter on the glad tidings of the Prophet, peace be upon him, about him, then spoke about his birth, physical and moral description, his manners, his character, his scientific upbringing, his diligence in choosing those who bear responsibility for him, and his issuance of fatwas. Then he included a section on the imams from whom he narrated, then introduced the Muwatta and its narrators and depicted the scholars' care for it.
