A question: a hadith book that reached us complete and organized by chapters of knowledge is the Muwatta of Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him. Allah has granted it acceptance in people's hearts. The Muwatta is among the most valuable books written in Imam Malik's era and the most beneficial. Al-Shafi’i preferred it over all writings in hadith up to his time, saying: "On the face of the earth, after the Book of Allah, nothing is more authentic than the Book of Malik." The Muwatta ranks among the hadith books after the two Sahihs, Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. Imam Malik wrote the Muwatta to preserve the great cultural and jurisprudential heritage of Medina, which is closest to the Prophet, peace be upon him, with its evidence, the actions of the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, and the practices of the people of Medina. The importance of this book stems from the importance of its author and his religious and scientific status. He was known for his extensive knowledge, accuracy, verification, and authentic transmission. He was a pioneer in this field. His book is truly the first to combine hadith, tradition, and jurisprudence, and it was also the first book to pave the way for others in collection and scrutiny.
