Longing for the Most Merciful

When it settles in the heart of the believer to understand the meanings of the beautiful names of Allah that are complete beauty, goodness, greatness, splendor, and glory, then the soul longs and increases longing to see the Most Merciful and to enjoy looking at His noble face. Here, the heart travels without wings and flies in the air longing for its Creator. So, it increases in understanding and pondering the meanings of His beautiful names until it reaches those who have the best and more. And it enjoys the greatest bliss in Paradise, which is the pleasure of looking at the Most Merciful, glory be to Him. And it was from the supplication of the Prophet, peace be upon him: "And I ask You for the pleasure of looking at Your face and longing to meet You."
