Generic name: Amlodipine 10 mg tablets
Lodipam 10 mg tablets belong to antihypertensive medications
How Amlodipine works: Amlodipine prevents calcium ion flow into cells, with a greater effect on smooth muscle cells in blood vessels, leading to vasodilation and decreased vascular resistance to blood flow, thus lowering blood pressure.
Medical uses of Lodipam 10 mg tablets: For treating patients with high blood pressure: Hypertension is a common condition where long-term blood pressure on artery walls is high enough to eventually cause health problems, such as heart diseases.
To treat patients with coronary artery diseases (stable and chronic angina, angina caused by sudden artery constriction)
How to use Lodipam 10 mg tablets: Take the medication as your doctor or pharmacist explained. Take the medication with a glass of water. If you take this medication once daily, take it in the morning.
Recommended dose for adults: 5 mg once daily, maximum 10 mg once daily.
For younger, weaker, elderly, or liver failure patients: start with 2.5 mg once daily.
Children's dose: 2.5 mg to 5 mg once daily. Dose adjustments may be made in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor’s or pharmacist’s instructions.
If you take more than prescribed, talk to your doctor or go to the hospital immediately.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is time for the next dose. Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the missed dose.
Side effects of Lodipam 10 mg tablets: The most common side effects are headache and swelling, which depend on the dose. Other reported side effects not dose-dependent include fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain, and drowsiness.
Using Lodipam 10 mg tablets during pregnancy and breastfeeding: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or think you might be pregnant or planning to have a child, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medication.
