Medical uses of Refresh Gel for the eye: This medication is used to relieve irritated dry eye, common causes of dry eye include wind, sun, heating / air conditioning, reading, continuous use of mobile or computers, and may result from some medications. It can also be used to treat dry eye caused by contact lens use. How to use Refresh Gel for the eye: Usually, eye products are sterile, so ensure the container is not damaged before use, and close the cap also after taking your dose (if using a single-use unit, dispose of the used unit away after use). Tilt your head back slightly and look upward. Pull down the lower eyelid with the other hand, turn the eye drop bottle upside down near your eye. Try not to touch your eye while doing this. Use enough pressure to release one drop (or contents of the ampoule) into your eye. Make sure the medicine entered your eye. Close your eye for a minute or two, gently press on the side of your nose, as this prevents loss of eye drops and keeps the medicine in place. The recommended dose is one or two drops (or ampoules) in the affected eye(s) as needed. A higher dose may be prescribed in severe dryness. Helpful tips to reduce dry eye: Repeated reading, watching TV, using the computer, and mobile can lead to dry eyes, so it is important to rest your eyes from time to time. If you wear contact lenses, it is sometimes advised to reduce wearing hours. Also, ensure to change them on time (know the type of lens whether for single use or for a certain period). Avoid direct exposure to the sun and wear sunglasses. Ensure proper hydration and drink plenty of water. Be sure to remove eye makeup using Cystan Wipes.
