Post-colonial theory is included among the theories branching from cultural theory, and its thinkers aimed to negate the idea that: "You cannot dismantle the house of the master with his tools," so they analyzed colonial discourse with the same Western critical tools, highlighting the repercussions of colonization on culture, society, and language during the phases of colonization and independence. They dedicated space to discussing the dualities upon which Western knowledge is based, such as the binary of East/West, and studied the effects of the process of Westernization, and how this process lowered the colonized world to the status of the margin. The thinkers discussed issues of identity, feminism, hybridity, cultural dependency, and mechanisms of new dominance. It influenced theory on literary, linguistic, social, and political studies in general. Its use expanded inside and outside Western academia, and the theory was described as a traveling theory, marked by many regional influences, but the Arab library still lacks studies that highlight the dimensions of this theory and its multiple fields of application.
