Product description
Does your laboratory operate in the construction and building sector and want to understand the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 in a practical, clear, and applicable way within the laboratory?
QGC offers a specialized workshop designed for construction and building laboratories, combining an understanding of quality management system requirements and laboratory technical requirements with how to actually apply them in the daily work environment.
The workshop does not focus on simply listing the specification items, but rather connects the requirements to the reality of soil, concrete, aggregate, asphalt and building materials laboratories, with practical examples and discussions that help participants understand what should be present inside the laboratory, and how to demonstrate its application effectively.
The workshop is presented by Emad El-Din, who has practical experience in the field of laboratories and quality, focusing on the most common issues that laboratories face while setting up quality systems and technical assessments.
What will you learn during the workshop?
You will gain a practical understanding of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements related to the work of construction laboratories, and some of the key topics include:
- Understanding the structure and requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and relating them to the reality of the laboratory.
- Requirements for competence, qualifications, and authorization for workers and technicians.
- Managing devices and equipment and ensuring their usability.
- Calibration, verification, and intermediate testing of devices.
- Metrological tracking and its impact on the reliability of test results.
- Selecting testing methods, verifying their suitability, and applying them.
- Dealing with standard specifications such as ASTM and others within the laboratory system.
- Quality control of test results and monitoring of technical performance.
- Technical records and test documentation requirements.
- Handling samples from receipt to issuance of results.
- Technical reports and requirements for issuing results that are technically traceable and defensible.
- Understanding non-conformities and how to deal with them systematically.
- Examples and practical discussions from real-world construction and building laboratories.
This workshop is suitable for you if you:
Laboratory manager, quality manager, technical manager, engineer, laboratory technician, accreditation officer, or working within a laboratory that seeks to obtain or maintain accreditation.
It is also suitable for laboratories that wish to raise the level of preparedness of their team and understand the relationship between specification, testing method, equipment, technical competence, quality control and records as one interconnected system.
Why is this workshop different?
Because the goal is not to memorize the ISO/IEC 17025 texts.
The goal is that after the workshop you will be able to look at the testing process within your laboratory and ask:
Is the technician qualified and authorized?
Is the device suitable and has its performance been verified?
Is the testing method being applied correctly?
Are the results subject to appropriate quality control?
Do we have the evidence and records to prove that?
This is where the true value of the ISO/IEC 17025 standard begins.

The result we are aiming for
You leave the workshop with a much clearer picture of how to build and operate an integrated laboratory system in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 , and not just theoretical knowledge of the specification clauses.
Raise the readiness of your laboratory, develop your team's understanding, and make quality a part of daily technical practice — not just files to be opened at evaluation time.
