Product description

Eye drop solution Troprost 40 micrograms / milliliter What is the use of Troprost: Troprost is a medicine belonging to a class of medicines called "Prostaglandin analogs". It is used to reduce high eye pressure in children from two months old and above, adolescents, and adults. Increased eye pressure may lead to glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye that can cause loss of sight). Troprost can be used alone or with other eye drops (such as beta blockers), which also help reduce eye pressure. Do not use Troprost: if you have an allergy to Troprost, or any other ingredients contained in this medicine. Tell your doctor about any symptoms you have experienced. Warnings and precautions: Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have had an allergic reaction such as shortness of breath, rash, swelling of the face or neck. This medicine may be absorbed through your skin. Make sure to avoid contact of the dropper with your skin. If this happens, wash your skin immediately, especially if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. This product contains castor oil and propylene glycol, which may cause skin irritation and reactions. Rarely, this medicine may cause shortness of breath or wheezing or worsening of asthma symptoms (a breathing problem causing difficulty in breathing and wheezing). Talk to your doctor immediately if you notice any changes in your breathing pattern. This medicine may cause changes in the color of your eyes and eyelashes, their growth, length, thickness, color, direction, and number. The change in eye color may increase during treatment. Changes in eye color may not be noticeable until months or years pass. Once you stop using this medicine, the change in eye color is expected to be permanent, unlike eyelashes and the area around the eyes, which are expected to regain their original color. Make sure to remove contact lenses before using the eye drop. You can wear contact lenses again at least 15 minutes after applying the eye drop. Avoid touching the tip of the eye dropper to the eye to prevent bacterial contamination. Ask your doctor if you are planning surgery (such as cataract surgery). If you are using more than one eye drop solution, ensure each is taken at least five minutes apart. Talk to your doctor before starting this medicine if you have an eye infection. Possible side effects: Very common side effects include eye redness. Common side effects include eye pain, eye discomfort, dry eyes, eye irritation, changes in iris color, and eye itching. Other medicines and Troprost: Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any medicines including eye drops. If you are using more than one eye drop solution, ensure each is taken at least five minutes apart to avoid dripping. How to use Troprost: Adults The recommended dose is one drop in the affected eye once daily at night. Do not put eye drops in both eyes unless your doctor has prescribed it. Children The recommended dose for children from two months old and above is the same as for adults. This medicine is not recommended for use in children under one month old. Usage instructions: Use your medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure. Open the packaging of the bottle just before first use and write the opening date on the box in the designated area. Wash your hands. Remove the bottle cap. Tilt your head (or your child's head) slightly back and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pocket. Place the drop above the eye with the tip directed downward. Look upward and away from the bottle. Avoid contact of the eye dropper tip with the eye or other surfaces to prevent bacterial contamination that could lead to serious eye injury and damage. Then press the container to release a drop. Keep the lower eyelid down and close the eyes for one minute. If you miss a drop, repeat the steps. Wipe any excess drops from your cheek (or your child's cheek). Repeat the steps with the other eye if your doctor has instructed you to put your medicine in both eyes. Close the bottle cap tightly after use. Contact your doctor if you suspect your eye drop is contaminated. You should use only one bottle at a time. If you are using more than one eye drop solution, ensure each is taken at least five minutes apart. Use the medicine at the same time every day. Do not stop using the medicine without consulting your doctor. How to store Troprost: Discard the bottle after 4 weeks of opening even if it is not empty and use a new bottle. Write the date you opened the bottle (for the first time) on the available space on the box. Keep the medicine out of reach of children and pets. This medicine does not require any special storage conditions. Do not use the medicine after the expiry date printed on the box. Keep the medicine away from light. Do not dispose of the medicine in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer need.
