Abu Abdallah Muhammad ibn Idris Al-Shafi'i Al-Mutallabi Al-Qurashi (150-204 AH / 767-820 AD) is the third of the four Imams among Ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah, and the founder of the Shafi'i school of Islamic jurisprudence, and the founder of the science of Usul al-Fiqh. He is also an Imam in the sciences of Tafsir and Hadith. He worked as a judge and was known for justice and intelligence. In addition to religious sciences, Al-Shafi'i was eloquent and poetic, a skilled archer, and a traveler. Scholars praised him greatly, to the extent that Imam Ahmad said: "Al-Shafi'i is like the sun for the world, and like well-being for people," and it was said that he is the Imam of Quraish mentioned by Prophet Muhammad with the saying: "The scholar of Quraish fills the earth with knowledge."
