Product description
Qais bin Al-Mulawwah Al-Amri, famous by the nickname "Majnun Layla" (24 AH / 645 AD – 68 AH / 688 AD), Arab love poet from Najd people, and one of the most prominent symbols of pure love in Arab heritage. Qais grew up in a Bedouin environment and lived during the Umayyad Caliphate, during the caliphates of Marwan ibn al-Hakam and Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan. He was known for his deep love for his cousin Layla Al-Amriyya, with whom he grew up since childhood, but her family refused his marriage to her, so his sorrow intensified, and people distanced themselves from him, and he wandered aimlessly in the deserts and wilderness.
