Product description

The title of Khaled Hosseini's new novel may be difficult for his two previous works, but it is one of his most enduring and emotional stories to date, smoother and more ambitious than 2003's "The Kite Runner," and the narrative more complex than 2007's "A Thousand Splendid Suns."

The story begins with Abdullah and his sister Pari in Afghanistan and ends after more than fifty years, passing through the stories of those who were linked by the intertwining paths of life in Athens - France - Pakistan and Afghanistan with an interesting plot and an amazing realistic style..

The novel is associated with many themes that intersect with his two previous novels: the relationship between fathers and children, the way in which the past influences the present, and shares with them the tendency to map a region midway between the world of fable full of daring and the world of vague and vague reality.

The events of the story take place in Afghanistan in 1952, where Abdullah and his sister Pari live with their father and his wife in the small village of Chad Bagh. Their father, "Sabour," was constantly looking for work , which destabilized them, and they lived in poverty and harsh conditions.
