The story of the novel revolves around an orphan girl named "Judy Abbott", who grew up in an orphanage. She writes letters to her guardian, the rich man she has not met.

The writer told us the story of Judy Abbott, since entering college as an uneducated girl from the cruel orphanage in which she lived, until her graduation after 4 years as a mature and independent girl with all professionalism. She also showed us, in a clever and indirect way, how little Judy's ideas and moral, emotional, and even political concepts changed over the years without prejudice to the origin of Judy's impulsive, naughty, intelligent, and finally the arrogant, almost stubborn personality.
