Author: Patrick Modiano Translation: Daniel Salhane Literary Genre: French Literature Number of Pages: 151 Publisher: Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority Cover: Hardcover Modiano returns to the lost biography of his parents in the midst of the years of war, and to the post-war society in which he says he encountered "people without weight, sometimes suspicious" in the streets, stations, and other places. "We will never know their fates, if they had any fates at all." And in a fundamental phrase, placed in the middle of the work, Modiano wrote: "I write these pages as someone who is drafting a report or a personal biography, as a documentation, perhaps to end a life that was not mine."
