Number of pages: 705 pages Publisher: Dar Riwaya Who among us has not faced at some point an intense internal struggle between following the truth or desire, or between accepting common assumptions or seeking and investigating the origins of matters. Who among us has not wished to make peace between thought and practice. Who among us has not dreamed of submitting his heart to his mind. Most of us suffer, wish, and dream, but few of us investigate, rectify, and submit, and the hero of our story tries to be among that few who refuse to be a herd, and he accompanies him on a journey deep into the depths of the soul, to surface with contradictions, then soar high into the horizon of knowledge. - The story of a Russian rabbi troubled by the contradictions he discovered during his deep study of Jewish law, and he was shocked by the reactions of the senior rabbis to his attempts to seek the truth about them, which led him to disappointment and suspicion of religion until his doubt reached revelation, so he began searching for the truth outside his scope, starting from worshiping Satan to secularism and interfaith atheistic interference in religions, passing through Buddhism and others, until he confirmed that all of them are sterile and that God indeed exists, then he returned to Judaism, searching among its other sects, hoping to find his lost piece in one of them. After living for a period in the Holy Land, he found that the other Jewish sects were more misguided than his previous sect, and that the wise of Zion had taken away most of what the prophets of the children of Israel brought. But his tragedy was not only on the religious level; it extended to the social and political levels as well. He closely observed the schemes of his own people and their conspiracies, and personally suffered from Mossad’s persecution and fabrications, until he was forced to flee to Egypt. His tragedy was complete when his emotional life was affected, and he experienced betrayal in its worst forms after he thought he had finally found true love.
