Introduction
Praise be to Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, and there is no deity but Allah. We always begin with His remembrance, and we seek help from Him first and last, and we rely on Him in all our intentions, words, actions, states, and behaviors. Blessings and peace be upon the seal of His prophets and messengers, and may Allah be pleased with all the companions, and the followers who follow them with goodness until the Day of Judgment. And may Allah be pleased with us among them by His grace and generosity, O Most Generous.
After:
The scholar of Qassim has departed with his body but remained with his knowledge, manners, thoughts, and legacy. He left this world after leaving us a large heritage inherited by generations after generations, and a vast harvest for scholars to graze in; this heritage was adopted by Dar Al-Maiman – with Allah’s success – to compile, verify, and publish it. The first edition was issued in a collection of 26 volumes in 1432 AH / 2011 AD after four years of research and work.
We are awaiting more of Sheikh’s works that have not been printed before; we look forward to them and are honored to publish them. Through persistent and ongoing research to track what the Sheikh left of writings via research committees in various archives, other works by the Sheikh are being discovered that have not yet been revealed; despite the distinguished research effort and almost complete survey made generously and nobly by the Sheikh’s children, grandchildren, students, and followers to obtain new manuscripts, which we have already included in our initial publication of this collection, ongoing research continues to reveal unpublished works.
Within the framework of developing this great project, the publishing house is tracking new unpublished works of the Sheikh and incorporating them into the encyclopedia according to the thematic division of the writings, which was detailed in the introduction.
We welcome further communication with dear readers, engaging with the mercy of knowledge, for knowledge is a womb among its people. Without the cross-pollination of ideas and exchange of opinions, humans cannot reach the pure truth. Constructive scientific criticism is welcome as it contributes to achieving greater human perfection. However, some, out of ignorance or foolishness, seek to block the light and prevent goodness; their criticism, besides being weak, is misplaced. The genius of the earth weakens before the measures of the heavens, and nothing illustrates this more than hundreds of speeches and letters we receive regarding this great project, expressing gratitude and happiness for this tremendous effort.
Dream Boat,
Under the title "Abdullah bin Akeel, the distinguished scholar of his Sheikh," the owner narrates a truthful vision that occurred to Sheikh Ibn Akeel, in which he saw his Sheikh urging him to print his books. Its text:
"In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. On Tuesday night, 3/5/87, at the end of the night, while I was sleeping at the 'Al-Ameen' hotel, I saw Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Saadi رحمه الله, either leaving or finishing a prayer or a lesson, sitting, and there was an expression of anger on his face. He was speaking roughly: 'These students or these people are negligent, and they are the ones who carried us through their negligence and laziness to neglect and not review the books.' He pointed above what was written about him, saying: 'We left them because there is no one to carry us to review them, and we are content with what we memorize and recite without preparation or review.'
I was stirred by that, and I immediately got up to call people, inform them, and urge them to gather around the Sheikh and agree with what he intends. I found a responsive response from those around me, so they gathered around him. I continued walking, looking for those around us, until I saw the place where the Sheikh was sitting had been built with well-crafted curtains and very quickly, and the people around him were cooperating with each other attentively, as if they had descended upon a place, some fixing the sail, others preparing this and that... etc.
When I returned and found them in this state, I started speaking strongly to encourage them, saying: 'O sons of Ali!' loudly, as if I had a gun, hitting its butt on the ground to boost their morale.
This is the summary of the vision I saw, and we ask Allah that it be good for us and evil for our enemies. Allah is the grantor of success."
And from that blessed vision, the Sheikh, with tireless effort, strives to contribute to printing all his Sheikh’s works رحمه الله.
It is as if Sheikh Al-Saadi رحمه الله, through this truthful vision, is advising us: "Make way for my writings to be unleashed; for I know they will prevail, and my messages will spread, for they are not for one country or one time but derive their universality from the universal message of Muhammad, and they draw their honor and virtue from the honor and virtue of Islam. Why not? They only speak about Islam, and they were written solely for Islam, to illuminate the way for Muslims in various fields and to defend it against its enemies."
This vision deeply affected the loyal student who took upon himself the realization of that dream, which sometimes played with his imagination and sometimes comforted him in his dreams. He contributed—by communicating with Sheikh’s children, especially his grandson Musaad bin Abdullah bin Saadi—to enable the King Abdulaziz Library to care for Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Nasser Al-Saadi’s manuscript library by sterilizing, restoring, photographing, and making it available to researchers.
A team of 45 master’s students from the Higher Institute of Judiciary at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University was also formed to verify one of the Sheikh’s unpublished books, a manuscript explaining the poem of Ibn Abdul Qawi, titled "Taysir Al-Kareem Al-Wahid fi Sharh ‘Aqd Al-Fara’id wa Kanz Al-Fawa’id," which we had the honor to publish in the first edition of this blessed collection for the first time, verified to the best of our knowledge.
Sheikh Ibn Akeel wished for his Sheikh’s works to be gathered in one collection.
Allah, the Almighty, fulfilled the vision of the loyal student, seeing the procession of his Sheikh’s writings moving into the vast world and advancing to people, a procession in 26 volumes, which we have never known a procession nobler in purpose, farther in goal, more sincere in intention, and deeper in impact on the world of modern publications.
This statement is not driven by haste or whim, but we say it with confidence after our first edition achieved great success, acknowledged by all scholars and researchers, topped the list of most popular publications, and questions about the second edition and the possibility of including many directives from the esteemed readers and teachers of Sheikh Al-Saadi’s books in the Two Holy Mosques and other centers of knowledge and arts have continued.
The success of the first edition was not a sudden surge but a flourishing branch that extended in space and spread in time until its branches touched the sky. Our happiness was greatest when scholars, researchers, and authors relied on it and used it as references and sources for their works, referring their readers to this noble collection and discussing it among themselves.
It is natural that this indicates two things that had the greatest impact on reprinting it:
First: the status of this collection in the hearts of those eager for Sheikh Al-Saadi’s رحمه الله knowledge.
Second: the awareness of the sons of the Arab and Islamic nation, as they were not deceived by the many publishing houses that produced their authentic heritage.
This encouraged us to reprint this collection again to meet the needs of readers for this kind of studies, especially after discovering new manuscripts that had not been published before, increasing this publication by fifteen new messages, in addition to a special volume of general indexes.
We did not want to prolong this introduction, but the pen moved without stopping, and we let it go where it wishes, so as to present to dear readers the most important features of this edition, which we are sending today to the Islamic library.
Features of the new edition:
This is a word before the new edition, mentioning some points we failed to highlight in the introduction of the first edition and alerting to what we have added to this edition of corrections, modifications, and additions in the following points:
1- It is, with Allah’s success, an expanded and revised edition through rechecking, verifying, and tracing the entire edition.
2- It includes the corrections of Sheikh Muhammad bin Suleiman Al-Bassam on many of Sheikh’s works, such as "Taysir Al-Kareem Al-Rahman," "Al-Qawa’id Al-Hassan," "Majmou’at Al-Fawa’id," and "Iqtinaas Al-Awabid," among others, which Allah facilitated us to obtain through his corrections, and this has been noted at the beginning of each book or message he corrected, رحمه الله.
3- It also reviewed the comments of esteemed readers on the first edition, selecting the useful ones to improve in the new edition.
4- The introduction also contains other topics proposed by a group of distinguished scholars from the Kingdom.
5- We have added to the encyclopedia general technical indexes that we could not include in the first edition, including indexes for (verses – hadiths – آثار – countries – benefits – sects and schools... etc).
6- It contains 14 new messages that were not in the previous edition, which we will discuss in the next paragraph:
New books and messages in this edition:
Allah, blessed and exalted, willed that we present this collection to the general readership for the first time in nearly four years. Perhaps we are no longer in need of introducing this important collection in its subject matter, after they became familiar with it in its first edition and showed great interest commensurate with its scientific value.
The period between the two editions allowed us to review some texts and investigations, and to add technical indexes to facilitate benefiting from the texts; in this edition, the books and messages have been carefully reviewed, with some remarks and additions, making it more accurate and comprehensive than its predecessor.
Thanks to Allah, this edition has also been enriched with a bouquet of new manuscripts that have not yet seen the light, and the following table shows their names, locations, and bibliographic information. By referring to the places of their verification within the collection, one can view models of the manuscripts used in verification.

As is Allah’s way in development and elevation, this collection has been enriched with further investigations, notably the re-verification and comparison of the famous "Taysir Al-Kareem Al-Wahid" (The Ease of the Generous One), known as "Tafsir Al-Saadi," which we dedicated a separate introduction to, referred to in volume two of the collection.
After verifying the need of people for this beneficial collection and the desire of many scholars across the Islamic world for its dissemination, Dar Al-Miman decided to reprint it for widespread benefit.
We ask Allah to make this work sincerely for His face, grant us support and strength to serve this eternal heritage, clarify its face, and facilitate benefiting from it. Indeed, He is the best disposer of affairs and the best helper.
The reader will personally notice our keenness to ensure this edition is corrected and free from any oversights that may have been in the previous edition.
The introduction of this edition discusses some topics that support this collection in bringing its content closer to readers; through scientific reviews by scholars and interested parties, it became clear these topics are worthy of research and study, so we summarized and presented them briefly.
We also thank the esteemed readers who contributed actively to refining this collection and guided us with their directives, which were influential in avoiding possible errors from the first edition.
Before we conclude this introduction, we note that some vandals have stolen some of the collection’s writings, publishing them as they are taken from our edition without respecting rights or publication ethics, which prompted us to commission a group of expert verifiers to re-verify and compare these messages taken from our collection.
Finally, this is the second edition of "The Collection of the Works of Sheikh the Scholar Abdul Rahman bin Nasser Al-Saadi," which we present once again to the Islamic library, praising Allah for the success of the first edition of this collection, and offering this new edition in a renewed form.
We ask Allah to accept it from us and to place it in the balance of our deeds when we meet Him.
