The Riba issues, praise of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah Muhammad Saad Al Khonain

The causes of Riba praise His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah Muhammad Saad Al Khunain applied study exploring the issue of causes of Riba in religion, loan, and sale, with clarification of the differences among scholars, and studying the issues that the jurists specified as exceptions from the prohibition of Riba, its cause, and its rules, and clarifying the reason for the exception, its cause, and the ruling on analogy based on it, then clarifying the impact of scholars' differences on the causes of Riba on financial transactions by tracing the effects of the causes mentioned and what is built upon their statements and the extent of their consistency and correctness. The study paid attention to: • Collecting the hadiths related to Riba (by its types) and studying them in terms of chain of narration and jurisprudence. • Studying the opinions of the Companions and the Tabi‘un on the issue, and the opinions attributed to them, through the compilations, Sunnahs, and Musnads, and extracting their methods in measuring Riba and their explanations. • Studying the historical course of scholars' opinions on this issue; up to the emergence of the well-known jurisprudential schools, then studying the opinions of scholars of these schools and their development, and observing contemporary opinions on this issue. • Studying the consensus and agreements mentioned in this issue, and clarifying who transmitted the consensus and their evidence. • Studying the causes of Riba of its three types, the wisdom of its prohibition, the Islamic objective, and studying the degree of its prohibition. • Studying the principles and issues exempted from the rules and causes of Riba, and the rules of these exceptions, their reasons, and the ruling on analogy based on them.
