Colgate Bamboo Charcoal Toothpaste

The use of charcoal as a way to brush teeth is nothing new. In fact, the ancient Romans used to brush their teeth with anything, from coal to tree bark. This black powder is even in a recipe for toothpaste in a 19th century English housewife's guide!

The past decade has seen the re-emergence of charcoal-based toothpastes, claiming to have whitening, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal and breath-freshening properties.
