Metastor 39.1% SE Azoxystrobin + Metalaxyl-M Systemic Fungicide for Root Rot and Damping-Off 1 L

192

Product description

  • Metastor 39.1% SE is a dual systemic fungicide containing azoxystrobin 28.2% and metalaxyl-M 10.9%, designed to control an important group of soil-borne fungal diseases that attack seeds, roots and seedlings in the early stages of cultivation. Its formulation combines two active ingredients with different modes of action: one disrupts energy production inside fungal cells, while the other moves systemically within the plant and is effective against Pythium and Phytophthora. This combination helps control damping-off, root rots and Rhizoctonia diseases, protecting the plant during one of its most vulnerable growth stages. Metastor is applied at specific timings around sowing and transplanting for best efficacy before disease develops in the root zone.

Key Features

  • Combines azoxystrobin and metalaxyl-M in one formulation to cover different groups of soil-borne pathogens.
  • Azoxystrobin disrupts fungal respiration and energy production, limiting pathogen growth and development.
  • Metalaxyl-M offers uptake and systemic movement within the plant, reaching new tissues and roots.
  • Metalaxyl-M is specifically effective against Pythium and Phytophthora, the causes of damping-off and root rots.
  • Azoxystrobin adds important activity against Rhizoctonia solani, widening the range of soil pathogens controlled.
  • Two modes of action make it a suitable choice within fungicide resistance management programs when registered recommendations are followed.

Directions for Use

  • Vegetable crops – damping-off caused by Pythium: use 500–750 ml per hectare, applied right after sowing or before transplanting.
  • Tomato – diseases caused by Phytophthora: use 500–750 ml per hectare, applied before transplanting tomato seedlings.
  • Potato – diseases caused by Rhizoctonia solani: use 1.5–2 L per hectare, applied 3–5 days after planting.
  • Note: the Metastor dose is set by the treated area in hectares and diluted in a suitable volume of water to ensure good distribution in the soil and root zone.

Precautions

  • Follow the registered rate and timing for each crop; do not increase the dose to boost control.
  • Distribute the product evenly over the treated area so it reaches the zone around seeds and roots.
  • Avoid relying on the same fungicide groups repeatedly in succession during the season, to limit resistance.
  • Some apple varieties are sensitive to this product; prevent spray drift onto neighboring apple trees to avoid damage or scorch.
  • Do not enter the treated area for 48 hours after application unless necessary and with suitable protective equipment.
  • Avoid drift onto non-target crops or areas, and wear personal protective equipment during mixing and application.

🌿 Orkida Tip

  • With soil-borne diseases, do not wait for damping-off or root rot to appear before acting, because the pathogen is already active around the seed and roots. Time Metastor to the planting stage and focus on distributing the dose evenly in the root zone rather than increasing the concentration. If applying through the irrigation system, first calculate the dose per hectare, then deliver it in enough water to reach the root zone without pushing it deeper than the roots.
