Product description
- Green Field Mix 2 lawn seeds are a German blend of natural grass seed combining 6 different varieties to establish a dense, strong green lawn in gardens and outdoor areas. The blend contains 70% tall fescue, which has deep roots and is known for its good tolerance to drought and wear, together with Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass and Bermuda grass. It suits sunny areas and partial shade, and can be used to sow a new lawn or to renovate an existing lawn and fill bare and weak patches. A 1 kg pack covers approximately 30–40 m² depending on the seeding rate and growing conditions.
Key Features:
- Good drought tolerance thanks to the high share of deep-rooted tall fescue in the blend.
- Tolerates wear and foot traffic well, making it suitable for gardens and lawns in regular use.
- Suitable for sun and partial shade to fit different spots in the garden.
- A balanced blend of 6 different lawn seed varieties to combine the benefits of several grass types in one lawn.
- Helps form a dense, strong and uniform green lawn when proper growing conditions and care are provided.
- Suitable for establishing a new lawn or renovating an existing lawn and filling bare and weak patches.

Blend Composition:
- 35% tall fescue (Rock Wall)
- 35% tall fescue (SC-1)
- 10% Kentucky bluegrass (Brooklawn)
- 10% Bermuda grass (Mohawk)
- 5% perennial ryegrass (Fancy)
- 5% perennial ryegrass (Elegana)
- Tall fescue makes up 70% of the total blend and is its main component. Its deep roots help it reach moisture in deeper soil layers, giving it good tolerance to dry periods compared with shallow-rooted grasses.
Directions for Use:
- Soil preparation:
- Clear the ground of weeds, stones and plant debris.
- Loosen and level the soil well to get a smooth, even surface.
- Level hollows and low spots before spreading the seed.
Seeding Rate and Coverage:
- Use about 25–40 g of seed per m² depending on the soil condition and the required density.
- At 25 g per m², 1 kg can cover up to about 40 m².
- At a higher seeding rate for greater density, the area covered by the pack decreases.
- Approximate pack coverage: 30–40 m².
How to Sow:
- Divide the seed into two portions for even distribution.
- Spread the first portion in one direction, then spread the second portion at right angles to it.
- Lightly rake the soil surface after spreading the seed.
- Cover the seed with a very thin layer of soil and avoid burying it deeply.
- Seed depth should preferably not exceed about 5 mm.
- Gently firm the soil surface to improve seed-to-soil contact.
- Water the area immediately after sowing with a light, fine spray so the seeds do not move.
- Keep the top layer of soil moist during germination and establishment while avoiding waterlogging.
Best Time to Sow Lawn Seed:
- Sow preferably during periods of moderate temperatures with regular irrigation available.
- In Saudi Arabia and hot regions: avoid establishing a new lawn during periods of extreme summer heat and choose milder periods.
- The best timing varies by region, temperature and site conditions, so pay attention to soil temperature and regular irrigation rather than relying on a specific month.
- Lawn renovation and filling bare patches:
- Green Field Mix 2 can be used to renovate existing lawns and reseed weak areas or patches that have become bare.
- Mow the existing lawn before reseeding.
- Remove dry parts, weeds and debris from the areas to be renovated.
- Lightly loosen and level the soil surface.
- Spread the seed evenly over weak areas and bare patches.
- Rake lightly to improve seed-to-soil contact.
- Water immediately after sowing and keep the soil surface moist during establishment.
Mowing and Care:
- Avoid mowing the new lawn before it is well established.
- When you start mowing, avoid cutting the grass too short or removing a large amount of growth at once.
- Because the blend contains a high share of tall fescue, very low mowing is not recommended.
- Regular irrigation, mowing and suitable fertilization help maintain the density, strength and appearance of the lawn.
- Important notes:
- The blend contains several grass types, so germination speed may differ from one type to another and not all plants will appear at the same time.
- Germination speed and lawn density depend on temperature, soil moisture, ground preparation, seeding rate and irrigation.
- Keep the soil surface moist during germination and do not let the seeds dry out once watering has started.
- Avoid flooding the soil or using a strong water jet so the seeds are not washed away and gathered in one spot.
- Do not bury the seeds deeply; a light covering is enough as long as good soil contact is ensured.
- The actual area covered by the pack varies with seeding rate, soil condition, preparation and sowing method.
- For better distribution and fewer bare patches, it is preferable to spread the seed in two perpendicular directions rather than scattering the whole amount in one direction.
