Product description

Klora 6.3% SC is an insecticide and acaricide containing two active ingredients, chlorantraniliprole 4.5% and abamectin 1.8%, used to control caterpillars, spider mites and leaf miners on vegetables, potatoes and pome fruits. Its formulation combines the action of chlorantraniliprole on ryanodine receptors in insect muscles with the action of abamectin on the nervous and muscular system, causing the pest to stop feeding and moving, then die. It works by contact and ingestion, and abamectin's ability to penetrate leaf tissue helps it reach pests in sheltered areas. Klora offers a broad control range thanks to the combination of both ingredients, especially in mixed infestations of caterpillars, mites and leaf miners, with best efficacy when applied at the start of infestation.

Key Features:

  • Contains chlorantraniliprole, which activates ryanodine receptors and disrupts calcium in larval muscles, so the larva stops feeding, becomes paralysed and dies.
  • Contains abamectin, which disrupts the pest's nerve and muscle transmission, stopping movement and feeding and giving strong activity against spider mites and target caterpillars.
  • Combines IRAC groups 28 and 6, two different modes of action in one product, broadening its effect on the registered pests.
  • Abamectin penetrates the leaf blade (translaminar), helping it reach pests in protected parts of the leaf.
  • The combined action stops caterpillar feeding early, limiting further chewing damage to leaves and fruits after treatment.
  • Works by contact and ingestion, so the pest is exposed when touching or feeding on treated parts.

Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI):

  • Vegetables: 7 days.
  • Cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli: 14 days.
  • Potato: 14 days.
  • Apple and pear: 14 days.

Precautions:

  • Apply at the start of infestation, targeting young larvae before they enter the fruit or spread through the foliage.
  • Keep to the set dose per area and do not increase the product amount when increasing spray water volume.
  • For spider mites and leaf miners, ensure good coverage of new growth, the underside of leaves and pest activity sites.
  • Do not use repeatedly in succession; alternate with products from different mode-of-action groups to manage resistance.
  • Avoid spraying in strong wind or high temperatures, and keep the product and sprayer rinse water away from water sources.
  • Wear personal protective equipment during mixing and spraying, and follow the re-entry interval and label instructions.

Orkida Tip: When using Klora on spider mites and leaf miners, do not spray only the upper leaf surface; adjust nozzles and pressure so the spray reaches the underside of the leaves and inside the canopy, where infestations usually concentrate. In dense crops, increase spray water volume for better coverage without increasing the product dose per area. The best timing is at the first sign of mines or mites and while larvae are young.
