Product description

  • Advion WDG by Syngenta is a broad-spectrum insecticide containing indoxacarb 20%, formulated as water-dispersible granules (WDG), for controlling a wide range of public health insects indoors and outdoors. The active ingredient is bio-activated: inside the insect's body it is converted into a more active form that affects the nervous system, stopping feeding and movement and then killing the insect. It controls ants, cockroaches, flies, fleas, many crawling insects, stored-product pests and other labeled pests, with a residual effect that keeps working after the spray dries. It mixes easily, has a low odor and leaves no stains on surfaces when used correctly.

Key Features:

  • Contains indoxacarb, which is activated inside the insect by its own enzymes and converted into a more active form.
  • Acts on sodium channels in the insect's nervous system, so the insect stops feeding, activity and movement, then dies.
  • Non-repellent: insects keep crossing treated surfaces and picking up the insecticide instead of avoiding them.
  • A different mode of action from pyrethroids and neonicotinoids, making it suitable for active ingredient rotation and resistance management programs.
  • Provides a residual effect on treated surfaces after the spray dries; duration depends on the pest, surface type, application rate and site conditions.

Target Pests:

  • Advion controls a wide range of public health pests, including ants, cockroaches, flies, fleas, centipedes, silverfish, earwigs, millipedes, springtails, crickets, some wasp species, carpenter bees and other crawling and nuisance insects, as well as several stored grain and food pests and other pests listed on the product label.

Use Sites:

  • Indoors and outdoors in homes, apartments, hotels, restaurants, commercial premises, warehouses, food-handling establishments and other permitted sites; it can also be used in some transport vehicles and commercial facilities during operation according to the treatment method specified on the label.

Directions for Use:

  • Add the required amount of Advion to water and stir well until the granules are evenly dispersed, then apply the solution with a suitable sprayer, targeting insect activity, harborage and travel areas.
  • Low infestation: 10 g per 4 L of water, equivalent to 2.5 g per liter or 250 g per 100 L of water.
  • High infestation: 20 g per 4 L of water, equivalent to 5 g per liter or 500 g per 100 L of water.
  • Use the higher rate under heavy pest pressure and where permitted by the product label.
  • Cockroaches: Spray cracks, crevices, corners, behind and under appliances, cabinets and equipment, wall edges and cockroach harborage and travel areas. Target infestation hot spots rather than spraying all surfaces unnecessarily.
  • Ants: Spray ant trails, entry points, cracks, crevices and around activity and nesting areas. Because Advion is non-repellent, ants keep moving over treated areas and are exposed to the active ingredient without being driven off their trails.
  • Flies: Spray permitted surfaces and fly resting and gathering areas, focusing on spots with repeated insect activity rather than random spraying.
  • Fleas: Direct treatment to flea activity and breeding sites, around animal resting areas, cracks, crevices and shaded areas suitable for their development, following the sites and rates on the label.
  • Crawling insects: Spray cracks, crevices, under equipment, around doors, windows, openings and insect entry and harborage points to control the crawling insects listed on the label.
  • Outdoors: Treat the building perimeter, insect entry points, around doors, windows, openings, cracks and outdoor areas where pests are active or hide.

Precautions:

  • Wear gloves and suitable protective equipment while preparing the spray solution and spraying.
  • Avoid contact with eyes and skin and avoid inhaling product dust during preparation.
  • Do not spray directly on food, food utensils or food-contact surfaces.
  • Do not exceed the recommended rate in an attempt to get faster results.
  • Prevent the product or spray solution from reaching water sources and waterways.
  • Store in the original container in a dry place away from food, animal feed and children.

Orkida Tip:

  • For the best results with Advion, it is not how much you spray but where you spray. Identify the source of the infestation and insect travel routes first, then direct the solution into cracks, crevices, harborage areas and entry points. For cockroaches, focus on warm, humid areas and behind appliances and equipment; for ants, follow their trails back to entry and nesting points. Because Advion is non-repellent, avoid spraying a strongly repellent insecticide over the same areas right after treatment so insects are not diverted away from the treated surfaces.
