Product description

  • Rimanil 40% SC is a preventive and curative fungicide containing the active ingredient pyrimethanil at 40%. It penetrates and moves within the tissues of treated leaves to control a range of fungal diseases affecting leaves, flowers and fruits. It disrupts vital processes the fungus needs to start infection, penetrate tissues and develop disease, and is particularly effective against gray mold caused by Botrytis, as well as early blight, brown rot and other diseases depending on the crop. It can be used preventively before disease develops or curatively in the early stages of infection, with best results when applied at the onset of conditions favorable to fungal growth and before the infection spreads through the crop.

Key Features:

  • Pyrimethanil disrupts the secretion of enzymes and the processes the fungus relies on to penetrate plant tissues and develop infection.
  • The active ingredient penetrates and moves within the tissues of treated leaves, protecting them better than surface coverage alone.
  • Pyrimethanil has strong activity against Botrytis, the fungus that causes gray mold, on a number of fruit and vegetable crops.
  • It has a preventive and curative effect in the early stages, helping to stop infection from developing and limit its spread when applied at the right time.
  • Helps protect flowers, fruits and leaves during the sensitive stages when the risk of the registered diseases is high.
  • Its specific mode of action makes it suitable for rotation with other fungicides in resistance management programs.

Directions for Use:

  • Grapes – gray mold (Botrytis): 2 ml per 1 L of water (200 ml per 100 L of water). Start treatment at the beginning of flowering or during fruit development, depending on infection level and the program followed.
  • Apricot, nectarine, peach and plum – brown rot and blossom blight: 1 ml per 1 L of water (100 ml per 100 L of water). Start spraying when conditions favor fungal growth, following the number of applications and the interval between them stated on the label.
  • Apricot, nectarine, peach and plum – leaf spot, scab and gray mold: 2 ml per 1 L of water (200 ml per 100 L of water). Spray during the sensitive infection stages with good coverage of leaves and fruits.
  • Tomato – early blight and gray mold: 0.75 ml per 1 L of water (75 ml per 100 L of water). Start spraying when conditions favor fungal growth and repeat as needed according to the label.
  • Potato – early blight: 0.75 ml per 1 L of water (75 ml per 100 L of water). Start treatment when conditions favorable to infection appear and before the disease spreads over the foliage.
  • Onion, garlic and leek – leaf blight, gray mold and registered fungal diseases: 2 ml per 1 L of water (200 ml per 100 L of water). Start spraying when conditions favor disease development and repeat as needed within the registered program.
  • Strawberry – gray mold (Botrytis): 2 ml per 1 L of water (200 ml per 100 L of water). Focus the spray on flowers, fruits and exposed foliage with uniform coverage.
  • When tank-mixed with other pesticides: where the label specifies, the rate is 100 ml per 100 L of water, following the mixing instructions and running a compatibility test before preparing the full spray volume.

Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI):

  • Grapes: 14 days.
  • Apricot, nectarine, peach and plum: 30 days.
  • Tomato: 7 days.
  • Potato: 7 days.
  • Onion, garlic and leek: 7 days.
  • Strawberry: 7 days.
  • Re-entry interval for the treated field: 12 hours.

Precautions:

  • Start treatment preventively when conditions favor the disease or at the first signs of infection; do not wait until the disease has spread widely.
  • Ensure uniform coverage of leaves, flowers and fruits, especially in crops with dense foliage and in high-humidity areas.
  • Avoid repeated use of pyrimethanil alone throughout the season; rotate with fungicides that have different modes of action to help manage resistance.
  • Do not raise the rate when infection is severe; improve coverage, adjust timing and stick to the registered rates instead.
  • Avoid spraying in strong wind or high temperatures, wear suitable protective equipment and keep the product away from water sources.

Orkida Tip:

  • When fighting gray mold, humidity control is part of the program, not spraying alone. Improve air circulation within the canopy, avoid leaves, flowers and fruits staying wet for long periods, and direct the spray to reach flowers, clusters and the inner canopy without excessive runoff. For early blight, start monitoring from the lower leaves, as they are usually the first to show infection. Early intervention with good coverage and humidity management gives better results than raising the fungicide rate after the disease has spread.
