Gojji was previously known as part of Sidamo region, but has emerged as a distinctive origin known for its complex coffee grown at high altitudes in rich volcanic soil since 2002, and the name Gojogol comes from the Oromifa language meaning dry, referring to the moderate climate and ideal conditions for coffee cultivation, carefully managed from pulp removal from cherries to fermentation, washing, and drying.
