Germal Plus

Liquid Germall™ Plus preservative is one of the classic preservatives offered by Ashland. This range of preservatives, including Liquid Germall Plus, provides effective antimicrobial strength for a wide and diverse range of personal care products. Liquid Germall Plus is characterized by its balance, synergy, and broad-spectrum protection, and it is compatible with many other cosmetic ingredients. The use of this classic preservative range has been approved in most countries, and it is effective at low doses and can be used to enhance other preservatives. Features and Benefits Broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity effective over a wide pH range 3.0–8. Liquid Germall™ Plus is a synergistic blend patented from Germall™ II preservative (Diazolidinyl Urea) and Iodopropynyl Butyl Carbamate (IPBC) in Propylene Glycol. Germall™ Plus is a highly effective, broad-spectrum preservative for emulsions and water-based formulations. It can be integrated into a variety of cosmetic and personal care products that are leave-on or rinse-off for wide-ranging preservation. Liquid Germall Plus is effective over a broad pH range from 3 to 8. It is soluble in water-soluble formulations, cationic, anionic, and non-ionic systems, as well as in the emulsified part of water-in-oil or oil-in-water emulsions. Formulation instructions: Add during the cooling phase of your formulation at 50°C or lower. Solubility: Soluble in water. Recommended usage levels: 0.1-0.5%. Storage: Keep away from direct light and moisture at temperatures between 10 and 25°C (50-77°F).
