Xanthan gum powder Description: Xanthan gum is a natural emulsifier and stabilizer derived from corn sugar. With amazing properties including solubility in both hot and cold water, salt tolerance, pH tolerance, and temperature change resistance, it is ideal for increasing thickness and adding volume to lotions, creams, and gels. It also works well as a suspending agent. Uses: Xanthan gum produces a significant increase in liquid viscosity with the addition of a very small amount of gum. 1% can generally be used, but less than 0.1% can be used in many applications. Xanthan Gum is an excellent natural source for thickening formulations, creams, liquid soap, shower gel, body lotion, and shampoo. Our xanthan gum is manufactured to improve water dispersion at room temperature. Once the xanthan gum is fully hydrated, the resulting solution can be heated if necessary to incorporate other ingredients. To blend without clumping, create a whirlpool in the water using your mixer (whisk, stick blender, etc.) and sprinkle the xanthan gum into the whirlpool.
