Why can the holster feel tight at first?

After the genuine leather is dried, the holster may shrink slightly. If inserting the pistol is difficult at first and you are sure the holster matches your pistol, break in the leather: place the pistol in a plastic bag, insert it into the holster, close the security strap and leave it for 24 hours. Then remove the bag and test the pistol on its own; if the resistance is right you are done, otherwise repeat for another 24 hours until you reach the desired fit.
