In the path of the crown

The events of the novel revolve around the Balkan Revolution and their conflict with the Ottoman Empire. During the preparations for war, Constantine's father tries to betray his country for personal glory, leading to a bitter debate between the father and son about love of homeland. Al-Manfaluti in this novel simply emphasizes the necessity of loving the homeland no matter what temptations are before us. And no matter the size of sacrifices, even if it is life itself.
