The pure ones, Mothers of the Believers - Dar Ibn Al-Jawzi - Dar Ibn Al-Jawzi

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the Master of the Messengers, and the leader of the pious, and mercy of Allah to the worlds; our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and pure companions. After: Allah honored His Messenger among all his Ummah by marrying more than four women, for great wisdoms whose mention will come in the folds of this book. He named them in the Holy Quran as the Mothers of the Believers, as Allah the Most High said: The Prophet is closer to the believers than their selves, and his wives are their mothers. And those related by blood are more deserving of mutual kinship in the Book of Allah than the believers and the emigrants, unless you do good to your close friends. That was written in the Book. And He purified them from impurity, as Allah the Most High said: And stay in your houses and do not display yourselves as in the ignorance of old. And establish prayer, give zakat, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah only intends to remove from you the impurity, O people of the house, and to purify you completely. And they bore with the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, the hardship of calling to Islam, jihad, and harsh living, and Allah prepared for them a great reward in the Hereafter. As Allah the Most High said: If you desire the life of this world and its adornment, then come, I will entertain you and release you kindly. But if you desire Allah, His Messenger, and the Hereafter, then indeed Allah has prepared for the doers of good among you a great reward. [Al-Ahzab: 29] So may Allah be pleased with them, they were righteous role models for women of the believers in every time and place. Among the Mothers of the Believers were young and old, and widows. Their lives with the Messenger of Allah were filled with happiness unmatched, despite many trials and hardships. It is enough for them the honor of the revelation descending upon their homes. May Allah be pleased with them. I saw the need to compile everything related to the rulings, virtues, characteristics, and a comprehensive biography of each one of them, with verification and accuracy. I exerted effort in gathering the material for this book—despite my weakness, poverty, and lack of knowledge—to make it an important reference in its field. I named it "The Pure," inspired by His saying about them: And He will purify you completely. I hope Allah makes it a valuable reference for anyone seeking to know the status of the Mothers of the Believers, may Allah be pleased with them. I apologize to the noble reader for any repetition in explaining some unfamiliar words and in deriving some hadiths, for I may forget something that precedes, and I repeat it in other places. I hope that the repetition is not without benefit. Allah is the grantor of success. I ask Allah to accept it from me, to make it sincere for His Face, and to benefit Islam and Muslims.
