Introduction
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Introduction
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the noblest of prophets and messengers, our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions collectively, and upon the followers and those who follow them with goodness until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows:
The book "Al-Tashil" authored by the scholar jurist Muhammad bin Ali bin Muhammad Al-Ba'li Allah (770 AH) is one of the important books written in jurisprudence according to the Hanbali school of thought.
It has distinguished itself from other books of the school by its small size, simple expressions, and clear meanings. Despite its brevity, it contains benefits not found in lengthy texts, having been stripped of proofs, explanations, and differences to facilitate memorization and to make its issues more accessible. Scholars have praised it, and they have benefited from it.
Allah, the Most High, has blessed me to teach this concise book to students, then to write its explanation called "Fiqh al-Daleel Sharh al-Tashil." The period of teaching and writing this explanation was ten years.
My main reliance—by Allah’s guidance—was on the manuscript of the original book (the original text), with benefit from the printed editions. I exerted effort and spent time studying the original, and much good was achieved—praise be to Allah. I had no intention of publishing the text of this book unless some who knew of the aforementioned explanation advised me to reveal the effort made so it could be benefited from, by printing the text of "Al-Tashil" as shown at the top of the explanation in a separate book.
I obtained the original manuscript during the preparation of the explanation. Through the efforts of one of the brothers—may Allah reward him well—this part was separated from the explanation into a standalone publication, then it was compared again with the original, and what was missed in the first comparison was corrected.
"Al-Tashil" was printed by Dar Al-Asimah in the year 1414 AH, then again in 1418 AH, with the verification of Dr. Abdullah Al-Tayyar and Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Hajilan. However, both editions of the book—despite their efforts—contained some notes, such as missing words, errors in writing some terms, typographical mistakes, and other issues that do not diminish the value of the effort made in verifying the book. I ask Allah to reward them for that.
(1) I saw a third edition issued by Dar Ibn Hizam in Lebanon, based on the second edition from the year 1424 AH, which included it, but with the removal of its introduction, footnotes, and the omission of the name of the person who verified the book.
