To the front, the Nuclei, summarized by Dr. Haitham Al-Haddad, introduction to the summary, and the methodology of summarization.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and all his companions.
After:
This is a summary of a book, one of the greatest and most beneficial books of Islam, and the most widely circulated; a book that gathers the important hadiths of the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers, our Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and his family and companions, in all aspects of life. It is the book "Riyadh As-Salihin" by Imam An-Nawawi, may Allah have mercy on him, and grant him wide mercy.
In this summary, I limited myself to the most famous and important hadiths that a Muslim should know in each chapter, while keeping them as brief as possible to facilitate memorization for students and reading for the general public. I did not delete from the original chapters of the book except for two or three chapters, in order to preserve the structure of the book as Imam An-Nawawi intended.
I hesitated to delete some of the verses included at the beginning of each chapter due to the majesty and reverence of Allah’s words, but I did so reluctantly to achieve the goal of summarization and to make the book more accessible. The result was a book less than one-third of the original, with approximately 650 hadiths.
Thus, several objectives of this summary were achieved, including:
1 - Making it easy to read the book in a short period for the earnest reader, perhaps in one or two days, so that a Muslim can read the entire book briefly, without neglecting Islam’s view of the most important aspects of life.
2 - Facilitating and simplifying reading the book in mosques, where it can be read in a very short time after prayer, chapter by chapter or more. Each chapter usually contains two hadiths, and few chapters contain three, unlike the chapters of scattered and salty hadiths, which are spread across different chapters and difficult to delete many of them while preserving the purpose of the book.
3 - Making it easy to read the book at home, where the head of the family can read one or more chapters daily in a short period. These memorized sections will remain in the mind after repetition, due to their brevity and familiarity.
4 - Facilitating the memorization of these hadiths, and thus making it easier to memorize the entire "Riyadh As-Salihin."
I believe I have avoided some criticisms of other summaries of this great book, but this is just my opinion. Some other summaries have deleted many of the original chapters, which damages the overall structure of the book that provides the reader with a comprehensive and noble view of Islam.
