Investigation on the good manners of Abdul Hamid
Introduction to the investigation
All praise be to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and ask for His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of ourselves and from the bad deeds. Whom Allah guides, there is no misleader for him, and whom He misleads, there is no guide for him. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.
As for what follows:
Indeed, the Satan, the accursed, has set his traps for all the children of Adam since he was given respite by the Lord of the worlds; a test for the disbelievers and a trial for the monotheists. He said, "Reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." He said, "Indeed, you are of the reprieved" [Al-A'raf: 14, 15].
And in the Noble Qur'an, there is a story about that deceiver:
"So, because of what you have caused me to do, I will surely sit for them on Your straight path" [Al-A'raf: 16].
And indeed, the verses came consecutively warning about his danger, and the hadiths kept coming explaining his evil and harm. So, those whom Allah, the Most High, guided to goodness benefited from this, avoiding his traps, wary of every harm.
And the scholars and the imams of religion continue to clarify his deception and warn against his misguidance. They authored many books, from which every past generation benefited, and every future one will benefit.
Among these beneficial writings, which are like shining proofs, is the book:
"Help for the Distressed in the Traps of Satan," a book more delightful than the eye in the human eye, authored by Imam of the People of the Sunnah, the Prophet, Shams al-Din Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah. He is a great and renowned Imam whose writings remain spread across ages and eras. This book is among the most beneficial, finest, and best writings.
I was inspired to investigate and comment on it, especially after Allah, the Most High, made two important motivators easy for me:
First: A precious handwritten copy.
Second: The authentication of our Sheikh Al-Albani—may Allah preserve and strengthen him—for its hadiths, about five years ago.
These two matters greatly encouraged me, so I worked slowly and carefully, accompanied by patience and deliberation. By Allah's praise, this book was produced, containing the essence and wisdom, consistent with the truth and correctness.
In conclusion, I say—by His power, exalted be He:
This is what I was able to do, and what is before you is what I have accomplished. If it is good, then praise Allah for it; and if it is not, then it is from me, and evil is not attributed to Him.
May Allah send His peace and blessings upon His Prophet, His servant, His family, His companions, and His delegations.
