The stopping and starting in the Noble Quran and its connection to the writing of the Mushaf, the readings, and the grammar Authored by A. D. Yasin bin Jassim Al-Muhaimid Al-Husseini The stopping and starting in the Noble Quran and its connection to the writing of the Mushaf, the readings, and the grammar | Yasin bin Jassim Al-Muhaimid Al-Husseini The stop "in the science of Tajweed," is a pause in the voice during which the reciter (usually) breathes with the intention to resume recitation. It is permissible unless prevented by a reason, and the stop is on the heads of the verses, or in the middle of them, and it cannot come in the middle of a word, or in what is connected in writing. Breathing is necessary at the stop, and if the reciter does not breathe, it is considered a pause. Starting is: resuming recitation after the stop, either by resuming with what follows the word at which the stop was made, or with what precedes it, or with the word itself.
