In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate
Presentation by the noble Sheikh, the scholar Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Aqeel
Former head of the Permanent Committee at the Supreme Judicial Council
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and blessings and peace be upon His trustworthy servant and Messenger, who said: "Whoever Allah intends good for, He grants him understanding in religion," (1) and his family and noble companions.
And after; our scholar, the scholar Abdul Rahman bin Nasser Al-Sa'di, whom Allah granted understanding in religion, so that it became his main concern most of his time—learning, teaching, studying, instructing, and authoring. Among his most important works in jurisprudence is the book "Manhaj Al-Salikin" and "Tawdih Al-Fiqh fi Al-Din"; this book is concise in wording but comprehensive in meaning. Allah cared for it before its compilation, took care of it during its writing, and admired it after its completion. It became something he praised to his students, encouraging them to memorize, study, learn, and teach it. He wrote to me about it a documented letter (13) (1360 AH), and sent it to me in (Abu Arish) when I was a judge there. He said about it: "We summarized it to be less than all the summaries you know, such as the 'Maqn' and 'Al-'Umdah', and 'Akhbar Al-Mukhtasar', all of which are concise and focus only on what is needed in each chapter. Despite that, it is clear and includes evidence... etc." End of quote from "Al-Ajwibah Al-Nafi'ah" (1).
One of its features is that it focuses only on issues that frequently occur among people, and it emphasizes evidence without lengthy discussion; sometimes, it makes the hadith in the issue the proof itself. Overall, the book's content is more eloquent than its appearance. The book has been printed several times, but each copy contains errors, omissions, and rearrangements.
Therefore, the ambition of Mr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Khudairi—lecturer at the College of Teachers in Riyadh, Department of Quranic Studies—was to care for, print, and publish it after comparing it with two handwritten copies: one of which was a photocopy of the author's handwriting, Allah preserve him. This edition is based on the most authentic copies of the book, with high-quality printing, paper, and binding, decorated with punctuation marks, stops, beginnings, divisions, referencing Quranic verses, citing prophetic hadiths, explaining some obscure words, and marking them with tashkeel (diacritical marks). Each issue begins at the start of a new line for clarity and ease of reference. Its numbered issues total 679.
He also included the preferences of our Sheikh from his other writings, whether they were additions, clarifications, or corrections to this book, thus serving the book, its author, and its readers. By this, he earned reward and good recompense, both immediate and future, Insha'Allah. The hadith states: "Allah will admit three into Paradise with one arrow: its maker, the one who shot it, and the one who provided it." (Narrated by Abu Dawood and Tirmidhi).
