The General Theory of Islamic Da'wah - The Approach of Da'wah
Dr. Adnan Ali Rida Al-Nahwi
This book, which is 376 pages in large size, presents the general theory of Islamic da'wah and its approach, and studies its elements element by element, after the other parts have been studied in other books. This book comes to join the other books to form together the comprehensive, harmonious picture of the general theory of Islamic da'wah and its overall approach extending across its fields and domains.
The topics of the book cover nine chapters, most of which include sections that cover its subjects. We have expanded the chapter "Training on Faithful Practice" and its approach and planning by including a study of the Muslim's daily plan, weekly plan, and annual plan. We also provided an extensive study of immediate training and phased training, with practical application models and tables for them.
Through the chapters and sections, we took the elements of implementation element by element in a relatively expanded study. As for the solid foundation, the main pillars, and the four major issues, they have been extensively studied in other books of da'wah.
This book is part of a specific approach presented by the "Books of Da'wah" methodology that we offer. We present it as a new approach to Islamic work, presented through theory and application. We believe this approach is suitable for the individual, the group, the nation, and for circles, institutes, and organizations. It stems from the Muslim individual's responsibility to build responsibility within the home, institutions, and the responsibility of the group and the entire nation.
This book is a serious methodological work that requires deep, serious study and re-study, just like any prescribed book in institutes and organizations. Its study should not only be serious but also aligned with the systematic study of the divine methodology—Qur'an, Sunnah, and the Arabic language. Studying God's methodology is the foundation upon which all subsequent studies are built. This book, like other books of da'wah, will lose much of its benefit if its study is not based on a systematic study of God's methodology, accompanying life and experience, under the conditions we clarify in the books of da'wah.
One of the goals of this methodology is for the Muslim to reconnect with God's methodology in a practical, systematic, and straightforward manner that does not stop. To achieve this, the heart must be purified with faith and monotheism, and their strength must be established, to push the Muslim toward God's methodology.
In general, our aim is to invite "the human" to connect with his covenant and pledge with God first, regarding the issue of faith and monotheism. If this step is truthful, it becomes easy for the person to connect with God's methodology. If both steps are truthful, it becomes easy for the Muslim to understand his responsibilities from God's methodology, and to know the obligations assigned to him from it, which form the core of the trust he bears in this worldly life, and the core of the caliphate, worship, and building through the test and trial that God has written for all of Adam's descendants.
With this book and all other books of da'wah, we present the new approach that we believe in within the field of Islamic work. We advise for it to God, His Messenger, His Book, the Muslim imams, and the general public. If we succeed in anything, it is by God's grace alone; all praise is due to Him, and all affairs are in His hands. If we err, it is from our own shortcomings. We repent to God, seek His forgiveness, and ask for His help.
