Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen Holding fast to the Sunnah of the Prophet and its effects The word of the honor Praise be to Allah, and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, and Allah's peace and blessings be upon him. And after: We are happy — and I think you are also happy — to meet on this blessed night with a noble scholar, who has given much of his time and effort; serving knowledge and students of knowledge, seeking only reward and recompense from the Lord of all worlds. He is the esteemed fatherly Sheikh: Muhammad bin Saleh Al-Uthaymeen, a member of the Senior Scholars Council, Imam and preacher of the Grand Mosque in Unayzah, and a professor at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Qassim branch. From all of us, he deserves thanks and supplication for his generous response to the committee’s desire for the City Festival’s first lecture on "Holding fast to the Sunnah and its effects," held within the grounds of this venerable university: the Islamic University in Medina, which cooperated — may Allah reward them — with the cultural committee of the City Festival’s first edition in hosting this lecture. I am pleased to invite the esteemed Sheikh Muhammad bin Saleh Al-Uthaymeen — may Allah benefit him and his knowledge for Islam and Muslims — to deliver his lecture, and kindly respond to any questions that may be written at the end of the lecture; so please, he is requested to graciously accept.
