Shams al-Din al-Sarouji al-Hanafi Al-Ghayah fi Sharh al-Hidayah | Shams al-Din al-Sarouji Abu al-Abbas Ahmad ibn Ibrahim ibn Abdul Ghani al-Hanafi
It is a book (Al-Ghayah fi Sharh al-Hidayah) by Abu al-Abbas Ahmad ibn Ibrahim ibn Abdul Ghani al-Sarouji al-Hanafi (d. 710), Qadi al-Qudat in Egypt.
And this explanation is one of the rare explanations in the Hanafi school; it pays attention to discussing the hadiths, their chains, and their defects, unlike the work of the imams of the school in their commentaries, as they pay less attention to this matter.
He also mentions the opinions of other madhhab scholars — including the Zahiri — in many issues, influenced in this by Ibn Qudamah’s method in “Al-Mughni.”
Thus, the book is considered an important scientific treasure, and perhaps all this is due to the fact that its author was initially a Hanbali before he became a Hanafi, memorized “Al-Hidayah,” and was interested in it.
Many scholars of the school have benefited from this explanation, such as al-Zilayi in “Al-Tibyan,” Ibn al-Humam, al-Mulla Khosrow, Ibn Abidin, and others.
For the benefit of readers.
Fourteen doctoral dissertations.
