The Manhaj Center for Supervision
Part of the introduction (Quran contemplation and action): It is an integrated, precise, and specialized methodology for training on contemplating the Noble Quran and acting upon it according to the methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jamaah.
Components of the methodology: We divided the Mushaf into 604 study units; each unit consists of a page from the Noble Quran — according to the edition of the King Fahd Complex in Madinah — plus four main paragraphs, which are:
Contemplative pauses: Seven contemplative pauses that focus on the goals of the verses (faith-based, educational, and others). We extracted them from sixteen books of the most trusted Tafsir books, and we adhered to the wording of the Mufassir unless there was an error in some words in terms of printing or language and grammatical analysis, which does not affect the correctness in any way. In such cases, we correct the word and place it between brackets like this [ ].
We mentioned at the end of each pause its reference; relying on mentioning the name of the Mufassir instead of the book name, followed by the part number and page according to the approved edition in the project. The total number of pauses in the methodology reached 4,228 pauses, selected from about 15,000 pauses representing the project's archive.
We were keen that the number of pauses in a single verse or part thereof does not exceed three pauses, and also that we do not transfer more than three pauses from one Mufassir in the same face.
Then, we placed a question on each pause to help the trainee acquire the skill of contemplation, which can be answered from the pause itself without needing to refer to other references.
3. Word meanings table: It includes the meanings of some strange words in the face of the Mushaf, taken from the book "Al-Siraj fi Gharib al-Qur'an" by Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Khudairi.
4. Acting upon the verses: To train the reader on the level of acting upon the Quran, we proposed three practical, measured, and derived actions from the face’s verses, and we placed before each action the verse from which it was derived.
5. Directions: We mentioned three general directions derived from the face’s verses — educational, doctrinal, or jurisprudential... etc. And before each direction, we included the verse from which the direction was derived.
Sources and references: We relied on the following Tafsir books for extracting the contemplative pauses:
1. Tafsir al-Jami' li-Tafsir Ayat al-Qur'an by al-Tabari, died 310 AH. Published by Al-Resalah Foundation, Beirut, 1420 AH.
2. Ma'alim al-Tanzil by al-Baghawi, died 516 AH. Edited by Dr. Othman Dhamiriyah and others, Dar Al-Tiba for Publishing and Distribution, Riyadh, 1423 AH.
3. Al-Muharrir al-Wajiz fi Tafsir al-Kitab al-Aziz by Ibn Atiyah, died 542 AH. Published by Dar Al-Kutub Al-Ilmiyah, Beirut, 1422 AH.
