Introduction to the Principles of Tafsir Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah Allah, the Most High, revealed His Book as guidance, light, and clarification for everything, and encouraged understanding it, saying: {Do they not reflect upon the Qur'an or are there locks upon their hearts?} And it is obligatory upon scholars to uncover its meanings, interpret it, seek it from its sources, and learn and teach it. Allah, the Almighty, said: {And when Allah took the covenant from those given the Scripture, to make it clear to the people and not to conceal it.} And Sheikh al-Islam Ahmad ibn Abdul-Halim ibn Abdul-Salam ibn Taymiyah, may Allah have mercy on him, established general principles to aid in understanding the Noble Qur'an and knowing its interpretation and meanings. These are well known as "Introduction to the Principles of Tafsir." Due to its importance, I verified it in four handwritten copies to present it as its author, may Allah have mercy on him, wrote it. There are two copies of the book: (1) A copy free of the notes from the verification. (2) A copy that includes the notes from the verification.
